Women’s Self-Defense Programs

Each year there are over 5 Million sexual assaults reported through the Uniform Crime Report and over 75 thousand forcible rapes nationally.

Shocking Statistics from the FBI database:

  • The UCR defines forcible rape as the carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will.
  • The FBI uniform crime reporting results of 2012 reported 84,376 forcible rapes.
  • This rate is .02 percent higher than reported in 2011. So the rate is rising
  • The rate of forcible rapes was estimated at 52.9 per 100,000 female inhabitants. So a city with over 200,000 will be subject to over 100 rapes.
  • 1 out of 4 college aged girls reported some type of sexual assault. Make sure your child in prepared for college.
  • Other sexual offenses like attempted rapes and sexual fondling cases numbers reached over 5 million with 78% being known offenders. Dropping your guard is not an option.
  • Nearly 7.8 million women have been raped by an intimate partner sometime in their lives.
  • 63% of incidents occurred in the home or a residence. Excluded from the public’s ears and eyes.
  • The average age of the assailant was 16 to 25 years old. You are not going to out run and young athletic male. Just breaking away and running is not an option.
  • 1 in 6 women will have experienced an attempted or completed rape.
  • It should be noted that must the common weapon used during these assaults were personal weapons defined as hand, fist, feet, etc. So a sound self-defense program is necessary. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
